ON THE CANTORIAL FEATURE TWO SELECTIONS BY CANTOR MISHA ALEXANDROVITCH (1914-2002). ORIGINALLY A CANTOR IN LATVIA BEFORE THE HOLOCAUST. AFTER THE WAR HE WAS KNOWN PRIMARILY AS A RUSSIAN SINGER, AS RELIGIOUS LIFE WAS SUPPRESSED. FINALLY, IN 1972 HE WAS ABLE TO EMIGRATE TO ISRAEL. HE RECORDED AND CONCERTIZED EXTENSIVELY AROUND THE WORLD IN THE 1970’S AND 1980’S. IN 1990 HE SETTLED IN GERMANY, WHERE HE LIVED UNTIL HE PASSED AWAY IN 2002. TWO SELECTIONS FROM A 1973 ALBUM, PART OF A SERIES HE RECORDED FOR RCA VICTOR.
