In honor of Israeli Independence Day, known in Hebrew as Yom Ha’atzmaut, Washington Jewish Radio presents a re-broadcast of “Israel At 50”, originally broadcast back in 1998. I produced this program to tell the saga of the turbulent days and history that resulted in the re-establishment of a Jewish State for the first time in nearly 2,000 years. On this broadcast you will hear many rare and poignant archival and broadcast recordings as well as commercial recordings of the period. It is a program which I took great pride in producing and we have re-broadcast it every year since then. I hope you enjoy it!!
