On the Cantorial Feature, two very nice selections by a Cantor famous in Baltimore for many years, Cantor Saul Hammerman (1925-2008). Born in New York, he became cantor of Baltimore’s prestigious Beth El Congregation in 1952, and held that position for the next 50 years. I got to know him when he was retired and used to attend services at Beth Tfiloh when I sang there and he was a very nice and gracious man. He passed away in 2008.
