On this week’s Cantorial Feature, two very nice selections by a Cantor famous in Baltimore for many years, Cantor Abraham Denburg (1924—-). For over 30 years he was the Chazzan of Baltimore’s prestigious Beth Tfiloh Congregation. After that he davvened at the historic B’nai Israel shul, one of the oldest in the United States. He lives today in retirement in Baltimore. In 1971, during his tenure at Beth Tfiloh, he recorded a double album with his choir who accompanied him at every service. The album was never widely available outside of Baltimore and I am grateful to my good friend David Zajic, who I had the pleasure to sing with and for during my tenure at Beth Tfiloh, for providing me with a copy of the recording. On the Cantorial Feature two very famous Cantorial/Choral compositions:
