On the Cantorial Feature this week, two very nice selections by probably the most famous American-born cantor of the Golden Age, Cantor Leibele Waldman (1907-1969). He took full advantage of the expanding media and was heard and seen extensively in recordings, concerts and radio broadcasts and motion pictures which made him world famous. On today’s program two very nice selections from a 1949 recording with the choir of Oscar Julius (1903-1986) who was one of the most well known Jewish choral and orchestral conductors. Very fine and very rare selections from this early LP.
