On the Cantorial Feature, two very nice selections by a fine Chazzan of the preceding generation, whose career was cut short when he died suddenly of heart attack when he was only 45 years old. Cantor Sidney Shicoff (1920-1965) had a large, majestic tenor voice and was very well known, especially in the New York area where he served with great distinction. His son, Neil, tzum langer yuren, is a famed tenor with the Metropolitan Opera. On the cantorial feature, we hear two selections from a fine 1956 album which he made for the Metro Music Company in New York.
