Hi Everybody!! Another great edition of the show is up on the website for your enjoyment!! A regular edition of the program with our unique and historical presentation of the finest in vintage and modern Jewish music. Selections culled from our family archive of over 11o years of recordings!! This week was a sad one for Washington Jewish Radio and for Ben and I personally as we learned of the passing of Bill Parris, head of the KHZ network and a friend for over 30 years, who carried the program and its predecessor, “The Jewish Music Hall” for decades over the air, in the pre-internet era. Wherever Bill had a station, Larry ( and later Ben) Shor had a home and Jewish radio had a voice. He was the consummate “mensch” in every sense of the word. We will miss him!! Ben and I thank you for all of your support and remind you to spread the word about the program and forward the website to everyone you can!! Here is the line-up for this week’s show. Ben and I hope you enjoy it!!

This week’s Cantorial Feature is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Roslyn Shor, of blessed memory. I observed her 15th yartzeit on February 4th (25 Shevat) and she was a great lover of Cantorial music and her favorite Chazzan was the late Cantor Sholom Katz (1914-1982) a world famous chazzan who served as Cantor of Beth Sholom here in Washington from 1947 to 1957 during his illustrious career. She had the chance to hear him live many times. It will always be one of the great honors of my life that for 44 years I had the privilege to call such a great and wonderful woman my mother.
