On the Cantorial Feature, two very nice selections by Cantor Moshe Taube (1927—–). Born in Poland, he was one of those saved by Oskar Schindler during the Holocaust. He came to the United States after the war and after serving in New York for a few years, in 1956 he became Cantor of Beth Shalom Congregation in Pittsburgh. He is today their Cantor Emeritus and lives in retirement in Pittsburgh. In 1976 he appeared as the guest soloist with the Beth Abraham Youth Chorale in Dayton, Ohio. This famous children’s choir appeared in the 1970’s and early 1980’s with many leading cantors. The selections heard on the program are taken from the live concert recording.
