On this week’s Cantorial Feature, two very nice selections by Cantor Benjamin Siegel (1919-2004). Born in Poland he came to the United States as a child and was raised in New York. He obtained his first Cantorial position in Spring Valley, New York in 1940. He served in the US Navy during World War II and conducted many services.  In 1950, he became Cantor of the prestigious Temple Israel of Great Neck, New York, a post he held until his retirement in 1985. He continued to officiate on the High Holidays until 1991. He passed away in 2004. On today’s Cantorial Feature, two selections from a 1965 album released by the shul.
