Another outstanding regular edition of the program which will wrap up the summer programming as on next week’s program we will begin our great series of five special holiday programs to add a special dimension to your observance and enjoyment of the holidays as they come to us. On the Cantorial Feature two very nice selections by Cantor Samuel Taube (1914-2008). A survivor of the Holocaust, he came to America in 1958 after holding pulpits in Paris and London. He became Cantor of the Beth Sholom Congregation here in Washington and remained until moving to Montreal in 1963, where he remained until moving to Israel in 1976. He opened a school for the training of young Chazzanim. He passed away in 2008. His was a classically trained lyric tenor of great range and power.  The two selections on the Cantorial feature are from a 1958 album recorded for Famous records shortly after his arrival in the United States.
