Born in Poland in 1911, he held positions in Poland until 1937, when he became Cantor of the Hendon Synagogue of London. He remained there until 1948 when he came to the United States to become Cantor of Temple Emanu-El in New York. He remained there until his passing in 1985. He was the youngest of the four Kusevitzky brothers, all prominent chazzanim. These two selections were the first he recorded shortly after his arrival in the United States in 1948 for Columbia records. He is accompanied by the orchestra and choir of his congregation conducted by the famous conductor Herman Zalis (1885-1969).
