Hi Everybody!! Another great program is up on the website for your enjoyment!! We are beginning the Three Weeks period of mourning which will culminate with Tisha B’Av in few weeks. Even though we present today a regular edition of the program we make some changes to the programming. Born in Israel, he has served and concertized around the world. These two selections are from a 1991 concert held in Jerusalem to commemorate the 25th yartzeit of the legendary Chazzan Moshe Koussevitzky.

On the Cantorial Feature, two very nice selections by a fine Chazzan of our time who passed away just a couple of years ago, Cantor Moshe Schulhof. Born in New York in 1946 he sang as a child soloist and as an adult held positions around the country and concertized around the world.  He was widely regarded as one of the foremost chazzanim of the generation. He passed away in 2013 at the age of only 66.  On today’s Cantorial feature, we hear two selections from a 2004 album:

On the Cantorial Feature, two very nice selections by Cantor Moshe Taube (1927—–). Born in Poland, he was one of those saved by Oskar Schindler during the Holocaust. He came to the United States after the war and after serving in New York for a few years, in 1956 he became Cantor of Beth Shalom Congregation in Pittsburgh. He is today their Cantor Emeritus and lives in retirement in Pittsburgh. In 1976 he appeared as the guest soloist with the Beth Abraham Youth Chorale in Dayton, Ohio. This famous children’s choir appeared in the 1970’s and early 1980’s with many leading cantors. The selections heard on the program are taken from the live concert recording.

Program of June 19, 2016-Father’s Day

Hi Everybody!! Another great program is up on the website for your enjoyment!! It is a special program for Father’s Day with lots of rare, poignant and special music as we pay tribute to Dad on his big day!! I will also pay special tribute to my own father, Nathan Shor (1927-2004). It is a unique program which you are sure to enjoy!! At the beginning of the program, Ben presents a special tribute to those who were murdered last week in Orlando. A famous version of the commandment “V’Ahavta Leraicho Komocho”- to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Good advice in these troubled times. This is the famous version of the Yeshiva Boys Choir.
